Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

This website is operated by Martijn Veldkamp, a registered company in the Netherlands. If you have questions about how your data is handled, you can reach me at hello@martijnveldkamp.nl.

What data is collected and why

This is a personal blog. I collect minimal data:

  • Website analytics. I use basic analytics to understand which articles people read and where visitors come from. This may include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. No individual profiles are built.
  • Comments. If you leave a comment, WordPress stores your name, email address, and IP address. Your email address is not published.
  • Contact. If you contact me directly, I store your name and email address to reply. I do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Cookies

This site uses functional cookies necessary for the website to work (for example, to remember your comment preferences). Analytics cookies may be set by the analytics service I use. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Third-party services

This website is hosted on WordPress and may use third-party plugins for analytics or performance. These services have their own privacy policies. Articles published on this site are also published on LinkedIn; LinkedIn’s privacy policy applies to any data processed there.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Comment data is retained as long as the comment remains published. Contact messages are deleted when they are no longer needed to answer your question.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Union, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you
  • Have incorrect data corrected
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)

To exercise any of these rights, contact me at hello@martijnveldkamp.nl.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy occasionally. The date at the bottom of this page reflects the most recent revision.
